The PDS is one of the most important (and most often overlooked) documents in NPD (New Product Development).
The PDS defines the intended product at the commencement of the project but may then be revised throughout the design cycle to reflect the evolution of the design. Covering every aspect from Patent review through to disposal in accordance with regional law this document can become quite substantial. Such documents draw your valuable time away from the design, developing and testing activities.
